Despite knowing the fact that Ketil and his men did not stand a chance against Canute’s army, Snake decided to join the fight for Ketil’s sake and his disciples followed him into this too. The episode ended with Thorgil appearing behind King Canute.

Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 19 Recap
In the previous episode, we saw that Ketil was able to gather more than three hundred men after his commitment to free them from their debts. This plan worked as they agreed to follow Ketil to the battlefield. Also, Ketil was known as Iron Fist in the past and they think this is the same Ketil.
Snake knows all about this and also knows that they do not stand any chance against the army but he remained silent in this matter. We then saw that Arnheid was in a pretty bad condition and she was showing no improvement.
The next day, the battle started and Snake decided to join as he was working for Ketil for a long time and had similar experiences in the past and do not want to repeat those things again. Then Snake’s men who were free to do whatever they want followed their leader and got all geared up to join the fight for Ketil’s farm.
King Canute gave Ketil and his family some time to surrender. Then the battle started as Ketil was not ready to hand over his farm. On the other side, Thorgil was making some plans with Omar to attack King Canute.
The battle started and soon it turned into a massacre for Ketil’s men. On the other side, Einar and others decided to leave the farm with Arnheid. Arnheid then saw some things from her past and his time with Gardar.
She then woke up to thank Einar for what he did for her. The battle on the other side was brutal for Ketil’s men as they did not have any chance against Jomvikings. The episode ended with Throgil appearing behind King Canute.
