Things are not going to be easy for Einar and Thorfinn in Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 18 as they will be treated like criminals and the preview for the episode ‘The First Method’ also showed both of them tied up. This upcoming episode will also mark the return of Ketil to his farm.

In the previous episode, we saw that the episode started where it left and Thorfinn and Snake started exchanging blows and they found that they both are strong. Thorfinn was wondering what someone as skilled as Snake was doing on this type of farm and Snake was thinking that how a trained fighter like Thorfinn ended up being a slave.

Thorfinn and Snake were giving their all but Snake was victorious as he closed the gap and reached near Gardar without defeating Thorfinn in battle and then stabbed Gardar with his sword. This move backfired when Gardar woke up and choked Snake making him unconscious or probably dead. Then Arnheid and Gardar left and after a while Gardar died on the cart they left.

In the last episode, we saw that Snake and Throfinn were fighting each other as Snake wanted Gardar for the five men that were killed by him and Thorfinn wanted to protect him for the sake of Arnheid and Einar. It was also revealed that Snake is a warrior from Miklagard and he was feeling shame for fighting bare-handed Thorfinn.

They both acknowledged each other and thought about how they both ended up in the situation they are currently in. The fight lasted for a few minutes but Snake was able to trick Thorfinn and reached the cart where Gardar was. Snake then argued with Arnheid and Thorfinn about what should he do after the man on the cart killed his five men.

Old master tried to stop Snake and he said he will give his land to him but this was not about the money. Then he stabbed Gardar in the chest with a light wound. This all backfired when Gardar woke up and choked Snake from behind and Snake was in a very bad condition as Gardar caught him off guard. Then Arnheid and Gardar left on the cart.

Arnheid knew that Gardar will not survive the wounds but they still left and she never told him that their son was taken by attackers she instead told him that he is at his brother’s house. As they left, Gardar was resisting all his memories of how he chose to fight for money and how he ended up being a slave and was treated very badly. He then had a dream where he reunited with his son after five years.

He remembered the time when their son Hjalti was born and how they were a happy family of three but things changed soon afterward. He then talked to Arnheid and then later died on the cart on which they left to leave the farm as the protesters of the farm approached the cart from all sides. The episode was very emotional and showed how little things matter too much in life.
