The episode ended with Genya looking like a demon.

Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 5 Recap

In the previous episode, we saw that Kotetsu told Muichiro that Kanamori is also in the mountains as he was building some swords. After giving it a thought he ran to find Kanamori with Kotetsu. After finding him, Muichiro asked for a new sword as his sword got chipped due to the fights.

Kanamori told him that he has a sword ready and they move there. On their way, they discover a vase and Muichiro sensed a demon from it. Then Gyokko emerged from the vase and then introduced himself. He then told them about how he loves art so much and that he creates those vases because he is an admirer.

The village was under attack by fish demons but Mitsuri appeared and then started finishing them off one by one. Then she saved the village chief who was about to get killed by a bigger demon. We then see that her sword is different than others. Tanjiro and Nezuko tried to run away but got attacked soon.

Hyokko then showed them his art and it was a disfigured demon with the people of the village he ate and then showed his evil intent. This enraged Muichiro but as he moved to attack him, he disappeared in a moment. He then discovered that Gyokko moves in his vases. Then he used some demon art and summoned some fishes that throw sharp needles.

Muichiro was able to dodge the attacks but when they attacked Kotetsu and Kanamori, he got in between and got stabbed by several needles. Muichiro then had a flashback and Gyokko trapped him using his blood art.

On the other side, Nezuko used his blood on Tanjiro’s sword and then used her blood art. The sword was on fire and Tanjiro was able to severe three out of four demons. Then he looked for the last one and found him beheaded by Genya but Genya was also looking like a demon.

The story will start from chapter 98 with Kibutsuji Muzan who serves as the leader of all demons having a meeting with all the upper moons as one of them has been killed. Muzan summoned Akaza in the second season, alerting all other upper moons that they would be gathering in a single place after a very long period.
