Blue Lock Anime Adaptation, Release Date & Details

In an official announcement made by Blue Lock’s official Twitter handle along with two Key Visuals and a teaser, it is confirmed that Blue lock anime will be released in 2022. The animating studio for the anime will be 8bit which has also animated popular series ‘That time I got reincarnated as a slime’.

Blue Lock Anime Release Date is not announced yet but if we take various things into consideration then it might be safe to say that Blue Lock Anime will be released in 2022. Well, it’s just an assumption but anything late than that will be too late in my personal opinion.

Various anime and manga news providing sources reported that Blue Lock manga is getting an anime adaptation very soon as a website domain name (bluelock-pr.com) and a Twitter account (@BLUELOCK_PR) for Blue Lock Anime were recently registered. An official confirmation is still awaited though. Read till the end for more details.

Blue Lock is a football manga that follows the Japanese dream of making a football team that can win the FIFA World Cup guided by an egoistic coach Jinpachi Ego. Three hundred strikers gathered at a facility to become the best striker in the world but the only one can claim that position. This starts the sporty battle between all the strikers as everyone is playing for themselves and reaches above by defeating other strikers in different games set up at Blue Lock facility.

Blue Lock Animation Studio will be announced along with the announcement which is bound to happen really soon. Looking at the manga’s art we think it needs some special treatment and the studio that picks the series must be able to produce good quality animation. On this, we would like if Production I.G picks up the series as they have created various fabulous sports anime in the past like – Haikyu!!, Ace of Diamond, Run with the Wind, etc.

Blue Lock Plot/Synopsis

The story of Blue Lock Manga starts from Japan National Team’s elimination from the 2018 FIFA World Cup. After the huge loss at the 2018 World Cup, Japan Football Union announces a special program for high school football strikers that will monitor the player selection process and their training for the 2022 World Cup.

The command of this operation or program is in the hands of an egoistic coach Jinpachi Ego who believes that Japanese strikers are not enough hungry for their goals. In the Blue Lock Facility, Three hundred strikers from all over the Japan gathered and now they will try to get the prize by defeating other strikers. The prize of winning Blue Lock is ‘Being able to play as a striker of Japan’s national team’.  

Yoichi Isagi the protagonist of the series who is a good player of football receives the invitation to join this program and will try to overcome his regret of not being selfish enough but things are not that easy as they look as other players are really strong too. Can he achieve his goal to become the best striker in the world and lead Japan national team to win the world cup?

The series is written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. The manga series is being serialized since August 2018 in Kodansha Japan’s Weekly Shonen Magazine. The series also won the best shonen manga award at the 45th Kodansha Manga Awards.
