Episode 3 started with Gabimaru talking about his village chief and how he found a medicine that now no blade can cut him and even if it does he can not be killed. He explained this to Sakiri as she looked like she believed that something like the Elixir of Life does not exist. They were talking but were interrupted by another criminal as he wanted to finish off his competitors first and then go for a search for the thing they are looking for on this weird island.
Gabimaru dodged some and took some head-on attacks but it came to an end with a clear win for Gabimaru and he did all this with his being tied with a rope as Sakiri was not letting it easy on him. The other guard didn’t even care about what the criminal he was assigned to do and it was revealed that they were ordered to return to the ship in case the criminal they are guarding died, they just had to take their head with them that the criminal really died.
The fight against the criminal looked like we were going to see some serious action but it all ended too fast it was alright that there was another fight waiting right around the corner. Then the other guard explained the events happening on the island as soon as they arrived on the island. We saw criminals killing criminals, criminals killing their guards and even guards killing their assigned criminals. We then saw that Yamada Asaemon Eizen was killed by the big guy who was sleeping all the time at the camp when all criminals gathered in the first place.
Sagiri was thinking about the words the other guard said but then she suddenly felt an attack coming towards her and it was Gabimaru. We then saw that Gabimaru’s parents were killed as they asked to leave the business as soon as Gabimaru was born but the village chief called it a weakness. It was also revealed that Iwagakure will be on the island soon and Gabimaru wanted to get the elixir of life as soon as possible so that he can reclaim his life and this was the sole reason he attacked Sagiri.
Gabimaru also faced some hardships due to her love for her wife but now he was all thinking about returning back to her. Then suddenly in between the fight, Sagiri’s sword broke and it was almost over for her but then Gabimaru had a change of heart and Sagiri survived. This change of heart was because of Gabimaru’s emotion and it sure looked like he is not the one who is hollow but a normal human being with emotions.
Gabimaru considered this all a weakness but Sagiri told him that this was not a weakness but a strength. This also helped Sagiri to control her own emotions, Sagiri let it slide this time but they were back to their old terms again. Then the scene shifted to the samurai-looking guy and we saw different sculptures in the forest.
The guy was bitten by a butterfly and then cut his own hand off without any hesitation. His guard was caught off guard but then he explained that the butterfly had a human head. His hand then soon turned into flowers or more like a tree. Then suddenly there was a huge noise and various weird creatures came out and now in Jigokuraku Episode 4 they will be facing those creatures.
