The last episode of Frieren Beyond Journey’s End started with a flashback from one thousand years ago when Flamme and Frieren visited Flamme’s master Serie. Serie was impressed by Frieren and then asked her to choose any spell she desired as Serie had all the spells known in their magical world. Frieren then denied saying that she wanted to explore that on her own and that she did not need any grimoire from Serie.

Flamme then tells Serie that Frieren will be the one to defeat the Demon King as they both are not suitable for the thing. Back to the present, Lawine and Kanne were up against Richter but they were at a disadvantage and Richter was attacking them continuously. Frieren was fighting Denken and soon Denken was out of mana. Frieren won the battle.

The girl at Denken’s party then came to help Denken as Frieren threatened that she would kill Denken if she did not show up. Frieren then took their Stille back from her and then used a binding spell to stop them from moving. In the last episode, we saw that Flamme and Frieren visited Flamme’s master Serie 1000 years ago and Flamme told Serie that Frieren has the ability they both lack and she will be to one who is going to defeat the Demon King. Back to the present time, Denken was attacking Frieren but she dodged all the attacks easily and it was a very easy task for Frieren to defeat Denken.

On the other side, Richter was fighting against Lawine and Kanne and he dominated them as they both were not able to handle powerful attacks from Richter. Frieren then called out the girl who stole their Stille and threatened to kill Denken if she did not show up. The girl then appeared and Frieren bound them both with a tree. Frieren then destroyed the barrier which was cast by The Great Mage Serie herself.

The examiner was in awe and this barrier break allowed the rain to enter inside the region and Kanne and Lawine then easily defeated Richter. There were still two hours left in the exam and Denken was not giving up. He fought against a party in a hand-to-hand combat and they also got a Stille to pass the exam. There were a total of six parties which means eighteen participants that passed the first exam. The second exam would start in three days.
