Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 11 Recap
Looks like Wulf likes the princess and Canute used her as bait and was able to defeat Wulf and was praised by the men who were watching it all. Canute gave some work to Gunnar and he was ready with papers for that. Canute was looking to raise the taxes and Ketil was also mentioned in the between.
They are going to requisite lands from farmers to grow their wealth. Canute can not rely on English sources of money and he must have the Dane army with him otherwise he will lose his power and effect over the English people. After the opening, we saw that Ketil found out that King Harald died a week ago before his visit and his son informed him of that. Olmar started a fight again with a stranger and drew his sword instead of apologizing.
Ketil interfered and apologized and gave money to the boy. We then saw that the boy is the son of Leif and he is still looking for Thorfinn. He then talked about it with Ketil and made sure that this time he is going for the right person but his request was declined by his fellow members as that trip would take them 10 days and they might have to face difficulty on their way back. As promised, Canute agreed to meet Ketil the next day and the whole family entered the room.
Olmar again pulled a stunt and asked to join King’s Guard. Canute gave him a test and Olmar made a fool out of himself but Canute still told him that he will get his answer the next day. Canute then discussed it with Gunnar and Wulf, Wulf declined by saying that he is the type of man to die first on the battlefield but when they looked at it from the another angle, they are going to let Olmar join the King’s Guard as they are now eyeing to capture Ketil’s farm as their first requisition.
