Shaman King 2021 Episode 1 will be starting the reboot of the original series of the same name that aired from 2001 to 2002 for a total of 64 episodes. The anime series is based on the manga of the same name written by Hiroyuki Takei. The manga series was originally published by Shueisha in their Weekly shonen jump magazine from June 1998 to August 2004 for a total of 35 manga volumes.
The current adaptation is directed by Joji Furuta who has worked on Inuyasha, Giant Killing, and other animes before. The animation for the series is given by ‘Studio Bridge’ whose past work includes Fairy Tail Series. The streaming rights for the series were acquired by Netflix and they will distribute the series soon.
The story of the series revolves around You Asakura who is a shaman (someone who can contact a spirit) and serves as a key to connect the living world with the dead. You want to become the Shaman King and then reshape the world but to gain this ability he must win the Shaman Fight Tournament held every 500 years for choosing the next Shaman King.
Determined You starts his training on a very tough schedule guided by his fiance Hao Asakura and this starts the Shamanic adventure of our protagonist You Asakura. Story
