Jigokuraku Hell’s Paradise Episode 8 Recap
In the previous episode, we saw Tenza in his teenage years when he was robbing and beating people for food and money. He was an arrogant brat who did whatever pleased him. Then he got discovered by Yamada Asaemon Shion at a fight and then he took him in and trained him to become a sword fighter.
Back on the island, Tenza and Nurugai were roaming around and trying to find a tide that will take them away from the island but then they got confronted by a Tensen. They somehow managed to dodge the attacks and ran for their lives. In between, they met Tenza’s master Shion.
He told them that the criminal he was assigned to tried to attack him so he killed her. He was also looking for a tide to leave the island. In the meanwhile, the creature appeared from behind and attacked Shion on his neck. Tenza then started fighting him but he already adapted to Tenza’s moves and there was no possible way to defeat it as Shion was bleeding pretty badly.
Then Tenza decided to sacrifice himself for the sake of his master and Nurugai. Shion then grasped the situation and ran with Nurugai to save them. Shion also asked Tenza why he wants to save Nurugai who is a criminal, Tenza said that he is the same as him and he sees potential in her like Shion saw in Tenza.
We then saw Tenza’s training time where he was not doing good in training and wanted to leave the place. He asked Shion about this and Shion said to him that if lands an attack on him he can leave.
This took Tenza quite enough time as he trained very hard for that single attack but this made him a skilled sword master and he later changed his mind to leave the place. We also saw how Shion’s previous apprentice left the training and ended up as a criminal and was executed by Shion himself.
