Blue Lock Chapter 129 Summary

Chapter 129 begins with Isagi moving forward with the ball. Blue Lock Eleven will be changing their tactic to a new formation they built during their practice. Up until now, they were revolving around Rin as the center while showcasing all their individual strengths at once.

Now that Shidou and Sae are together, it will be impossible to keep using the same old formation, instead, they will make Hiori the anchor on the frontlines due to his cool-headedness. Isagi then passes the ball to Hiori, who was closely guarded by Japan U-20’s Miroku Darai.

Miroku says to Hiori that he can’t get away from him, to which Hirori says clashing head-on isn’t the only way to display one’s ego and swiftly passes the ball to Karasu. Though Karasu is impressed with the pass, he also pinches Hiori by saying that he is only good at sending the ball away. A cool-headed Hiori replies that he can do more, listening to this Karasu passes the ball to Hiori and asks him to show what’s special about him.

And Hiori uses his left leg’s power and precision to send the ball towards Rin but it was actually a pass to Nagi. Just when he thought he was free to move, Nagi was blocked by Japan U-20’s Kazuma Niou. Luckily he found Isagi in an open space and passed it to him.

Just when Isagi thought of scoring a goal, he was unexpectedly blocked by Japan U-20’s Oliver Aiku. Isagi then realizes that as long as he is in Aiku’s territory his ability is useless.

Following this, U-20’s Haru Hayate receives the ball and passes it to U-20’s Sae Itoshi, and begins their counter-attack. While everyone in Blue Lock Eleven is getting ready to stop the counter-attack, Mikage Reo remembers his only mission is to stop Shidou and that’s the only reason Ego subbed him in. At that time Reo said that he was keeping an eye on the U-20 defenders since the beginning of the match.

Back to the present, he is not letting either Shidou and Sae out of his sight, and just when Sedou thought he has free reign to score a goal, Reo copied Oliver Aiku’s skill with 99% accuracy to stop Shidou on his tracks. The chapter ends with Nagi impressed with his new move and Reo saying that he will crush Shidou using his Chameleon Defense.
